A Workplace Assessment might be conducted if the employer is trying to discover the cause of a persistent problem, or if there has been a rash of complaints about a particular issue, or issues. A Workplace Assessment can be conducted in a situation that has not yet resulted in a complaint being filed.
CHR can identify conditions, made visible through the Workplace Assessment, and highlight conditions of work that contribute to workplace conflict.
A situational assessment is a brief intervention to assess a complaint and to determine the best process for resolution. It can result in a harassment investigation, a grievance or some other process for addressing the concern that has been flagged by the employee.
Applying the relevant definition the employer is permitted to review any employee complaint including harassment and violence to assess whether the alleged conduct corresponds to the applicable definition.
